Accessibility

We want this website to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text and stronger contrast.

What we have done

• Every photograph carries descriptive alternative text, so a screen reader can describe what is happening in it rather than reading a filename.
• Text and background colours have been measured against the WCAG contrast standard, and the palette was adjusted where it did not meet it.
• The site works from the keyboard alone, and focus is visible as you move through it.
• Headings follow a logical order so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
• Motion is subtle, and if your device is set to reduce motion, the site honours that and turns animation off.
• Text reflows down to a phone-sized screen without a horizontal scrollbar.

Where we know we fall short

This is an honest list rather than a claim of full compliance. Some older PDF forms are not yet tagged for screen readers, and we have not completed a formal third-party audit. Both are on the list.
